About Jared

I was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida into a working class family; my father has previously worked as a custom furniture maker and now works in the construction industry. My family relocated to Alabama in 1994. I earned an associate degree from Faulkner State Community College in 2004.

I lived in Birmingham for 5 years where I met my wife. I currently live in Daphne, AL with my wife Elisha and 3 children, Josiah, Rhys, and Ian. I earned my Eagle Scout in 2001 and am an active volunteer with my local scouting organization. My career experience includes working as a project manager for a marketing agency that has worked internationally with businesses both large and small.

I know that every human has the right to live a life of dignity. Historically Alabama has not only restricted that right to a select few, it is actively taking away that right from the majority of our residents. I am fighting for every Alabamian to have access to quality healthcare, as well as equitable education, regardless of socioeconomic status. I am passionate about reducing the need for and use of the current flawed prison system.

Why am I running?

In 2021, our state officials voted to spend COVID relief funds to build new prisons. I started digging and found that those funds could be used to help offset lost revenue. More prisons = more revenue.

After looking into the prison system and organizations like the ACI, I realized I have spent the majority of my life with a gross misunderstanding of the history of Alabama, and the USA, at large.

That was the moment I knew I had to get involved. Running for state office came a little later with the help of Jasmine Sherman, who urged me to run NOW.

Who should vote for me?

First, check out my positions. If, after reading those, you're not sure I'm the right candidate to lead this state, I suggest reviewing my qualifications.

If you still don't think I'm the right candidate, let's talk about it.
